![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Much of the series history came along naturally in the story. This is my first book in the series and though it is number eleven, I never felt lost in the story. Some adventures with friends along with some helpful hints from her feline buddies and few strong leads help Kathleen to close in the killer. Though he was in town only a short time to negotiate the possible opening of a new business, even many of the townspeople had more than enough motive to wish him harm. Along the way, she finds out that the offensive out-of-towner Wallace, with his bad attitude, infamous history, and shady past business dealings had no shortage of enemies. When band member Derek falls under suspicion of murder after a couple of altercations with the dead man Lewis Wallace, Ethan demands that his sister investigate. Librarian Kathleen Paulson’s younger brother Ethan is visiting, along with his bandmates in the Flaming Gerbils (seriously I just wanted to write out that name). ![]()

This is giving me similar vibes to the movie, Would You Rather? which had a similar premise. ![]() Mack is offered the chance to compete in a hide and seek competition for a large sum of money if she wins and after meeting her competitors she feels she had a good chance at winning. The second disturbing things is that our protagonist, Mack’s while family was murdered by her father and the only reason she is alive is because she hid the entire time. We learn about an amusement park where a five year old girl was murdered and even though an employee was arrested for the murder a shoe belonging to a child was found near a part of the park which had been closed off to the public since it opened in the 50’s. I recently finished Go Hunt Me by Kelly deVos and Hide sounds like a similar kind of book so I decided to pick it up and give it a go since I adored Go Hunt Me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And she realizes he is beginning to care for her in return.īut now her cruel husband has found her, and Master Nolan discovers she's been lying and lying and lying.Īfter Book 2, I was afraid Ms. As he pushes her limits, she learns to trust…and then to love. There was one scene in particular that I won't spoil but that involved trying to find food that utterly broke my heart. Cutter did well by showing the entrapment of the boys but also by showing how they were going to try to survive on the island's resources. I liked the description of the island the Scouts were on. The book definitely has quite some characters, but this also made it hard for me to 'root' for one person in particular. All the same, I could not put it down-?I had to find out who (if any) would survive this terrible ordeal! ![]() I say I'm more into books of the psychological, but in reality, at some point in time, I felt this book grabbing at my psyche as it did the characters?. Definitely not the best book to read right before you go to bed, especially when you're on a medication that claims to have a side effect of a 'tingling sensation on arms and legs.' Lately, I have found myself more into psychological thrillers, but this book gave me a creature I was actually scared of-Cutter's words left me feeling sick, itchy, prickly, and creepy-crawly. Nick Cutter's The Troop is rich with detail, especially whenever it comes to the creature the characters are dealing with. *I received this book from the publisher (ARC) ![]() |
