![]() Not only that, but it changes Cat’s character in profound ways that we are not able to see. However because of its late introduction into the book, along with a new villain, it is rushed and not fully explored. This twist creates a second and final plot point for the series. Then there is a big plot twist involving a young girl, Cat’s former team, her uncle, Madigan, and Cat herself about 50-60% into the book. It is exactly what I’ve come to expect from this series. It’s fast paced, the plot doesn’t lag, and Cat’s emotion-driven energy fuels it all. ![]() This part of the story is very well done in my opinion. Here we finally get to the heart of who Madigan is, his relationship with Don, and how it all comes back to Cat. Responsibility and worry urge Cat to move and find out what Madigan has done with them. Up From the Grave by Jeaniene Frost finds Cat and Bones leading a relatively calm life in their mountain cabin when Don arrives with news that Cat’s former team is missing. That being said, the girls I buddy read this with all gave it 5 stars, so maybe my judgement was hindered by COVID and antibiotics and steroids *shrugs* The book itself could be split into two distinct plots that are loosely tied together. ![]() It felt repetitive and the ending rushed. ![]() I’ll be brutally honest, I was underwhelmed by the story. This month wrapped up Cat and Bones’s story in the final Night Huntress installment, Up From the Grave. ![]()
